About Us.

Who We Are

Our work is driven by a commitment to tackle pressing issues across the following areas, sexual grooming and cross-generational sexual relationship, menstrual inequity, child marriage, and harmful traditional practices through education, support, and advocacy.

How We Started

The Smile Outreach began in 2018 as a grassroots community development service. Guided by our visionary founder and a dedicated team, we embarked on a mission to illuminate lives and sow seeds of positivity within local communities. What started as small-scale efforts to support vulnerable groups has grown into a wide-reaching movement, touching the lives of countless individuals across Africa.

Women Empowerment

Our early initiatives focused on empowering women, including providing relief packages to widows of fallen Nigerian soldiers. We partnered with medical associations to offer free cervical cancer awareness, screening, and consultations, ensuring that women had access to vital healthcare resources.

Educational Outreach

We also extended our support to public school students by providing essential educational supplies, including school bags and books. This helped foster a nurturing environment for young learners, ensuring they had the tools they needed to thrive academically.

Our Pillars

What We do?

Our mission at The Smile Outreach is to create and implement educational and interventional initiatives that address critical social issues at the grassroots level. We aim to empower women, youths and adolescents by providing them with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to make informed choices and lead dignified lives.

Adolescent Health and Education

We provide comprehensive educational programs that focus on crucial topics such as sexual grooming, menstrual equity, and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). By educating adolescents about these issues, we aim to empower them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Youth Agency and Leadership

Through our initiatives like the Outreach Youth Lab, we train and support emerging youth leaders. We equip them with the skills and resources needed to drive social change within their communities. This program includes a six-month intensive training that covers advocacy strategies, media campaigns, and community development.

Community Engagement and Advocacy

We work closely with local communities to create supportive environments for open discussions and education on sensitive topics. Our approach involves engaging parents, educators, and community leaders to ensure the sustainability of our efforts.

Women’s Empowerment

We are committed to promoting gender equality and ensuring that women have equal rights and opportunities. Our programs address gender-based violence, provide support for menstrual health, and combat harmful traditional practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM).
