Battling Sexual Grooming, Facilitating education, and Eradicating Period poverty/taboos through the entry point of “The Good Cycle”
“The Good Cycle Initiative” aims to tackle a threefold challenge, commencing with the critical issue of period poverty, absenteeism in schools, and cross-generational sexual relations due to lack of access and information.
Our strategy includes establishing Pad Stations across various settings, including schools, camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs), and Prisons.
While we seek to ensure consistent access to essential menstrual products for those in these critical locations, These Pad Stations are, in truth, hubs of awareness, advocacy, and activism designed to foster a deeper understanding and proactive engagement with menstrual health.
Through a comprehensive national volunteer engagement strategy, these stations will serve as the groundwork for ongoing educational workshops, training, incubators, and sensitization programs.
We firmly believe that this project is pivotal in confronting and dismantling the underlying factors contributing to period poverty, educational disruptions due to absenteeism, and the risks associated with sexual grooming, effectively challenging the societal norms that perpetuate these issues.
Our Approach
We go about the Good Cycle Initiative by employing several strategic actions to ensure its success:
We strategically place Pad Stations as Educational Hubs
We carefully set up pad stations in schools, IDP camps, and prisons, making sure they are positioned in places where girls and women can easily access menstrual products. Beyond distribution, these stations also act as learning centers, where educational outreach on menstrual health and hygiene is conducted.
We conduct Monthly Educational Sessions
At each pad station, we hold regular workshops and training sessions to keep the learning ongoing. These sessions provide consistent education on menstrual health management, offering girls and women the knowledge and support they need to manage their periods with confidence and dignity.
We collaborate with Sector Partners
We partner with other non-profits, government agencies, and private sector organizations to expand the reach and impact of The Good Cycle Initiative. By leveraging their collective expertise and resources, we can strengthen our program’s effectiveness and broaden our presence across more regions.
We engage and involve the Community
We actively involve local leaders, influencers, and community members to ensure the initiative is culturally sensitive and addresses the specific needs of each community. This collaborative effort helps us build trust and ensure that the community is fully engaged in sustaining the initiative for the long term.

Proposed Impact
Building Knowledge and Safe Havens
We are committed to empowering girls and women by providing access to reproductive health education. Through workshops, peer discussions, and sensitization efforts, participants will gain confidence and understanding of menstrual health, consent, and personal safety.
Empowering through Giving
Our mission goes beyond providing menstrual products. By raising awareness and mobilizing community support, we are addressing the root causes of period poverty and creating lasting change.
Empowering Women as Agents of Change
Women are at the heart of The Good Cycle Initiative. By engaging women as leaders and participants, we empower them to drive positive change in their communities, tackling challenges like period poverty and educational barriers.
Entrepreneurship and Financial Empowerment
The integration of entrepreneurial activities will ensure that pad stations are financially sustainable while empowering participants with valuable skills. The sale of menstrual bracelets and other DIY items will fund the stations and build participants’ financial independence.
Alignment with SDGs
Our initiative directly aligns with the following Sustainable Development Goals:
- Good Health and Wellbeing (Goal 3): Improved menstrual health will lead to better health outcomes.
- Quality Education (Goal 4): By addressing menstrual health, we reduce absenteeism and improve education for girls.
- Gender Equality (Goal 5): Empowering girls and women through education and economic opportunities.
- Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6): Providing menstrual hygiene products promotes health and sanitation.
- Partnership for the Goals (Goal 17): Collaboration with stakeholders will ensure comprehensive solutions to period poverty.
